The main difference between HSPA+ and CDMA is speed (up to 21mbps on HSPA+ ) and the ability to roam outside of Canada and the US with HSPA+. Plus it’s just new and cool.

No problem. Your CDMA phone will still work. We love all our members no matter which phone they have and we’d never leave anyone hanging.
Yes. If you have an existing iPhone with another company and it has been unlocked, then a Virgin Mobile SIM card with a smartphone plan will work. Virgin Mobile can’t unlock iPhones for customers. Once unlocked and activated with an active Virgin Mobile SIM card, members will need to change their service settings to the Virgin Mobile settings to get up and running.
Sorry, you’ll only be able to use HSPA+ phones and sticks on our new HSPA+ network (and CDMA phones and sticks on our older 3G network).
If you get a Virgin Mobile SIM card but use a compatible phone or stick from another company, you’ll have limited support for data, depending on your phone or stick. Voice and text will be supported for non-Virgin Mobile phones and sticks and for the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and Apple iPhone.
Sorry, but we don’t unlock any HSPA phones from other companies, including iPhone.
You’ll have to get your phone unlocked from the other guys, but we’ll be happy to set you up with a Virgin Mobile SIM card.
