Right now, 65,000 Canadian youth don't have a place to call home.

That's the same as the population of Saint John, New Brunswick.

Virgin Unite

On A Mission

At Virgin Mobile, we’re about being a force for good and taking action within our local community. In early 2008, Virgin Mobile Canada and Virgin Unite, the non-profit foundation of the Virgin Group, joined forces to create the RE*Generation movement. RE*Generation aims to empower a generation to help its own and provide a national platform to discuss issues affecting at-risk and homeless youth. As we soon learned through research and global discussions, over 65,000 homeless youth and at-risk youth were located in Canada. With the power of RE*Generation, we can help shine a light on the issue to create lasting solutions and provide essential services needed for at-risk youth in Canada.

Our Impact

Virgin Mobile’s RE*Generation has provided a positive impact to at-risk youth from coast to coast. From sponsoring benefit concerts to partnering with a network of homeless youth-serving organizations, RE*Generation has increased its message to not just Virgin Mobile Members in Canada but for people around the world.

Virgin Mobile has had the following successes with RE*Generation:

  • More than 7,000 homeless youth housed and received emergency services
  • Over 775 opportunities created for homeless youth, including support and education
  • More than 500 hours volunteered in at-risk youth shelters
  • 25 million media impressions generated
  • More than $1.5 million raised for RE*Generation through donations, partner support, benefit concerts and the sale of Samsung RE*Generation phones

THE 2012 AWARDS FOR ENDING YOUTH HOMELESSNESS

In collaboration with Eva’s Initiatives, Virgin Unite & Virgin Mobile’s RE*Generation has supported Canadian organizations for their dedicated work with homeless and at-risk youth through the 2012 Awards for Ending Youth Homelessness. Winning organizations were chosen based on the organization’s pro-social initiative and its overall impact in helping to end youth homelessness in Canada.

Congratulations to Youth Opportunities Unlimited, Choices For Youth, Centre Jacques-Cartier and The Doorway for being selected as the 2012 award recipients!
