HOW CAN I CHECK FOR SECURITY POLICY UPDATES ON MY SAMSUNG (ANDROID OS) DEVICE?

We always want your device performing at its best! To help make sure your Samsung device is running smoothly it's important to install the latest security updates once they're available. Don't know how? No worries, just follow the steps below...

Heads up!  Avoid data charges by hopping on Wi-Fi when completing security updates. If the security update doesn't get the app working or if you're already up to date, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. That should fix it!

Samsung devices with Android 5.x and lower

1. Go to your device's settings.
2. Tap on Security.
3. Tap on Security policy updates.
4. Tap on Check for updates. If you are not on Wi-Fi, you will be asked if you wish to continue.
5. A pop-up message will appear letting you know whether a security update is needed or not. If an update is needed, follow the on-screen prompts to install it.
6. Once the security update has been installed, reboot your device.

Samsung devices with Android 6.x and higher

1. Go to your device's settings.
2. Tap on Lock screen and security.
3. Tap on Other security settings.
4. Tap on Security policy updates.
5. Tap on Check for updates. If you are not on Wi-Fi, you will be asked if you wish to continue.
6. A pop-up message will appear letting you know whether a security update is needed or not. If an update is needed, follow the on-screen prompts to install it.
7. Once the security update has been installed, reboot your device.
