How to set up Steve's Internet Access Manager

What's Internet Access Manager anyway?

Steve's Internet Access Manager lets you set the time and day(s) that certain devices can access the Internet.
Like, for example, if you want to limit the time your computer-literate pug spends online, you can specify a day and time their device (laptop, tablet, etc.) can't access the Internet.

Heads-up! Steve's Internet Access Manger only blocks ports 80 (http) and 443 (https) so he won't stop devices from accessing shared files (documents, pictures, videos) that are on your local network.

How to turn off Internet Access Manager

Heads-up! For security reasons, you need to change your default administrator password (admin) before you can use the Internet Access Manage. You'll be prompted to change your password if you haven't done it already.

  1. Open a browser and enter: http://STEVE
  2. At the bottom of your home screen, make sure Global Access Control is turned ON.
  3. Click the Network button.
  4. Choose the device you want to manage access for.

Heads Up! If you don't see the device you want to manage access for, click the Show button to see all devices that are on your network. Only currently connected devices will show.

  5. Turn Internet Access Control ON or OFF for the selected device.
    • ON: Access to the Internet will be blocked on the days and times you choose.
    • OFF: Blocked days and times will be disabled until you turn Internet Access Control back ON.

Heads Up! If you don't see the device you want to manage access for, click the Show button to see all devices that are on your network. Only currently connected devices will show.

  1. Click on the Internet Access Manager tab.
  2. Choose a block type. Psst! If you select Always, you can skip the next step.
  3. Click on a block of time to select it or click again to deselect it.
To choose a large period of time, click and hold a block of time and drag your cursor over multiple blocks.
  4. When you're done, click the Save button.

How to override blocked access

You can temporarily give Internet access to a device that's currently blocked by Internet Access Manager. The device will have access to the Internet until the next scheduled blocked time takes effect.

You can override an active blocked session from the device itself or in your Steve's Settings.

Override from the blocked device:

When the device tries to access the Internet a status page will load. Just sign in with your administrator password and you're good to go!

Override in Steve's Settings:

  1. Open your browser and enter HTTP://STEVE.
  2. Click the Network button.
  3. Choose the blocked device.
  4. Click the Internet Access Manager tab.
  5. The current status icon should show a closed lock (lock icon). Click on the icon to temporarily unlock Internet access (unlock icon).
