VIRGIN MOBILE CANADA AND SAMSUNG BRING MEMBERS THE ULTIMATE ROCKSTAR EXPERIENCE

Virgin Mobile Members & their lucky plus ones will jet off in a private plane to U.S. Virgin Mobile FreeFest presented by Samsung

TORONTO (ONTARIO) August 15, 2013

Now in its fifth year, Virgin Mobile FreeFest is one of the most anticipated free music festivals in the U.S. The one-day festival held at the iconic Merriweather Post Pavilion packs an awesome line up of bands for a great cause: supporting the RE*Generation movement in the fight against youth homelessness. A portion of the proceeds from the upcoming FreeFest will support Sasha Bruce Youthwork, an organization in Washington D.C. that assists at-risk and homeless youth. 

Contest winners will live like a rockstar – their experience includes roundtrip flights to Toronto followed by a private flight from Toronto to Washington, D.C., hotel accommodation, sweet Samsung gifts and more. In addition, winners will get the opportunity to make a difference here in Canada. Virgin Mobile Canada and Samsung Hope for Children will make a donation in each winner’s name to Virgin Unite’s RE*Generation. All of the donations will go directly to local non-profit organizations that assist at-risk and homeless youth in Canada. Just by winning, each Member gets to help in creating brighter futures for at-risk and homeless youth across the country.

Winners outside Ontario will travel to Toronto on Thursday, September 19. A special kick-off party will be hosted for all winners at Billy Bishop Airport prior to boarding their private Porter Airlines flight to Virgin Mobile FreeFest taking place on Saturday, September 21.

FREEFEST LINE-UP

Jam-packed with more than 20 performers, Virgin Mobile FreeFest will cover two main stages and the Dance Forest with the hottest rock and pop artists around. The main stages will feature Vampire Weekend, The Avett Brothers, Pretty Lights, Robin Thicke, MGMT, Kaskade, City and Colour, Icona Pop, CHVRCHES, The Knocks, Black Joe Lewis, Sky Ferreira and Little Green Cars. The Dance Forest includes Madeon, Gareth Emery, Washed Out, Manufactured Superstars, Conogorock, TJR and Ghost Beach.
